CharityManuel Academy – School Construction and WaSH Project
Background
Tsito is a growing community with a predominantly rural population engaged in subsistence farming and small-scale trading. Despite a strong sense of community, the region faces major socio-economic challenges, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, and infrastructure.
The Project
The CharityManuel Academy in Tsito Awudome is an important educational institution for children from low-income families. Currently, 72 children, from kindergarten to junior high school, attend this school.
However, a needs assessment has revealed serious deficiencies:
Inadequate classrooms, poor sanitation facilities, a lack of teaching materials, and no digital infrastructure.
These conditions significantly affect the quality of education and endanger the health of the students. As a result, not all school-age children in the area are able to attend school.
By constructing a modern, fully equipped school building with 10 classrooms, an administrative area, sanitation facilities, and a water supply system:
- All students will have access to education.
- Students and teaching staff will have access to clean drinking water, adequate sanitation, and handwashing facilities.Water-related illnesses will be reduced through improved hygiene conditions.
- Students will be able to attend classes regularly and on time, increasing their chances of completing their education.
- Hygiene awareness among students and teachers will be significantly improved through support and training.
- Girls will be able to attend school even during menstruation.
